Gasteiner ski rounds and Freerides

Round 1 

  • Time: approx. 3-4 hrs.
  • Difficulty: intermediate
  • Length: approx. 20 km,
  • Difference in altitude: 2850 m
  • Starting/finishing point: Bad Hofgastein - Schloßalm Valley station
  • Skiing standard: Stem turns, good strong snow plough needed on middle steep slopes
Ascent with the funicular railway and the cable car to the Kleinen Scharte. Then on the No. H 3 (Hamburger) to the Schlosshochalm lift (No 9). Ascent with the Schlosshochalm T bar. Once at the top on to piste H 32 to the Skizentrum Angertal (Ski Centre Angertal valley). Ascent with the Kasereben lift. H 31 downhill run then on the No H 3 (Hamburger) – turn off at the Aeroplanstadl hut towards the direction of the downhill run H 2a.

Round 2

  • Time: approx. 3-4 hrs.
  • Difficulty: intermediate
  • Length: approx. 22 km
  • Difference in altitude: 3000 m
  • Starting/finishing point: Bad Gastein - Stubnerkogel Valley station
  • Skiing standard: tem turns, good strong snow plough needed on middle steep slopes
Ascent with the Stubnerkogel lift to the mountain top station. Downhill run no. B11 to the  Skizentrum Angertal. Ascent with the Kasereben lift. Downhill run no. H 31 and then on the H 3 (Hamburger) downhill run to the Kitzstein middles station. Ascent with the cable car to the Kleinen Scharte. Downhill run H 3 (Hamburger) to the Schlosshochalm lift (Nr. 9). Ascent with the Schlosshochalm T bar. Once at the top take the H 32 piste to the Ski Centre Angertal Valley. Ascent with the Angertal valley lift (4 seater chair lift), then afterwards on the B 11 piste to the Burgstall T bar – downhill run no B 15a to the Stubnerkogel middle station – downhill on piste no. B14 or with the Stubnerkogel cabin lift.

Round 3

  • Time: approx.3-4 hrs.
  • Difficulty: intermediate
  • Length: approx. 20 km
  • Starting/finishing point: Dorfgastein – Fulseck valley station
Ascent with the Fulseck lift to the mountain top lift station. Downhill run no.7 towards the Kühageralm lift. At the crossing change to piste no 8 Sennleiten and follow this to the Kreuzkogel bottom station. Then use piste no 1further on to the middle station of the Panorama lift. Ascent with the Panorama Lift to the mountain station. Downhill run on piste no 1 to the Kreuzkogel lift. Ascent with the Kreuzkogel lift no 57 to the mountain station then on piste no 7a (Gratabfahrt) towards the direction of Dorfgastein. Follow piste no 7 to the mountain station of the Wengerhochalm lift. At the mountain station of the Wengeralm use downhill run (No 6) and carry on until reaching the middle station of the Fulseck. Then continuing on the Mühwinkel downhill run (no 10) in the direction of the valley bottom.


Freerides

Schlossalm-Angertal-Stubnerkogel

Easy Freeride area near to Weitmoser (Nr.7) the 6 seater chair lift. Also ideal for Freeride newcomers. Steeper Freerides at the Hochalm lift (no. 9) and off piste H2 (alternative Lärchen slope)
Stubnerkogel-Jungeralm; easy off piste terrain near to pistes B 19 and B 22.
Attention – No off piste skiing is allowed when there is a danger of avalanches!

Sportgastein – Ski Route 1

  • Length: approx. 4 km
  • Starting point: Goldberg Mountain lift station (2.650 m)
The about 4 km long route 1 leads over the steep slope underneath the Goldberg lift towards the Knappenbäuelsee Lake, and goes from here further south towards the middle station.

Sportgastein – Ski Route 2
  • Length: approx. 2.2 km
  • Starting point: crossing S3 / S6
The route 2 can be reached by using no S 3 or S 6, as well as by using route 1. The route begins moderately steep and leads over more and more terrain back down to the bottom of the valley. Once reaching the valley then it’s on the cross country tracks back to the valley station of the Goldberg lift.

Dorfgastein-Großarltal

Many interesting ski routes can be found in the Skischaukel Dorfgastein-Großarltal. The Hochalm ski route (no 8) on the Dorfgastein side as well as the beautiful Bergland ski route (no 11) to mention just a few. You will also come across beautiful skiing terrain again and again while skiing off piste.
