Skiing area
Ski Centre Angertal Valley
The door to the Gasteiner skiing world
The skiing centre has been made exactly where alpine skiers, cross country skiers, winter walkers and ski tourers meet.
A complete poetic and harmonic sculpture has been created, that is attractively enriching, especially when it comes to the ski runs. The central building with its different service facilities is enjoyed by the guests. The winning project designed by the Viennese Architect Martin Kohlbauer combines design, material and colours in harmony with a new generation.
The centre point is the covered and therefore weather protected Agora. It is a place of historical importance and modern impressions, communications and meetings. Sunlight is directed directly into the inside of the building, all important areas can be reached easily by the guests here: Cash Desks, sports shop with sales, hire, ski school and an area for children.
Quality and comfort are guaranteed
The upper floor can be reached by means of stair or a lift. From the spacious panorama terrace guests have a fantastic bird’s eye view of the skiing slopes. The bar on the ground floor is the “in place” to be after a days skiing. While the silver grey larch wood ceiling and facades dominate, the architectural design has achieved with connected glass an area of transparent openness in the building. Glass is also a main point of the light tower. The skiing centre in the Angertal valley will certainly become a new landmark to remember and will help Gastein with a new modern image.
Top Project with a Top Chef
Sepp Schellhorn is responsible for the “gastronomic ideas” in the new “Angertal 1180” restaurant. He has been awarded with two chefs’ hats by Gault Millau, and has cooked his way to the top. As well as the “Seehof” in Goldegg he has caused a sensation high up on the Mönchsburg with the M32.In the restaurant “Angertal 1180” Schellhorn presents “free flow” and service. Guests can watch salads, pasta, pizza and dishes from the wok being prepared as well as specialities cook from Pinzgauer Beef. In the a la carte area Shellhorn spoils his guests with quality dishes such as lettuce with goat’s cheese, steaks and fish as well as different pasta dishes. Incidentally: 1180 is the exact altitude of the kitchen.
